Clarke and Simpson Auctions
Clarke & Simpson Auction Centre is steeped in history – originally trading as the Wickham Market Sale Yard from 1922, its location close to the town’s railway station made delivering livestock by train very easy. Before that date, people routinely bought and sold cattle in the Market Square in the centre of Wickham Market. Although the days of weekly livestock sales have gone, the Auction Centre retains the atmosphere of a traditional rural market.
The site extends to some five acres and has six sales rooms and additional yard space, plus parking for more than 300 cars. We hold the traditional weekly sale, and regular specialised sales, throughout the year and believe you can buy almost anything from here over a period of 12 months! In recent times, the site has featured in BBC TV programmes such as Bargain Hunt and Antiques Road Trip.
Directors, Geoffrey Barfoot and James Durrant, lead our experienced team, and every one of them will be keen to help you. Buying or selling at auction can be both fun and successful, but it can also be daunting to those without experience. We’re happy to help direct you through the process, so don’t be afraid to ask.
